About Me
Greetings. My name is Ian Rudy and I am a graduate student at Rensselaer Polytechnic University working towards my PhD in Computer science. I obtained two bachelors degrees from Susquehanna University, one in Computer Science and one in Advertising.
I graduated from Susquehanna University in 2024, and am currently pursuing a doctorate in Computer Science from RPI.
When I’m not at college, I work as a livestream technician at a local church, handling the cameras and graphics for the service which they stream online for those who can’t go in person.
As a computer science major, I have experience with a number of different programming languages, including C, JS, Matlab, Python, ARM Assembly, and Java. I enjoy coding in C, and have created a few games and demos on the Gameboy Advance. Much of my personal work has also been in web development, creating layouts and designs for my own use, and incorporating the functional features to make them work. You can see examples of that in the interactive prototyping / UI design portion of my portfolio.
I am currently working on a demake/partial-port of the Sega Genesis game “Columns” for the GBA, but I have also posted my own original game on this site, which you can find in my featured blog posts. I have also dabbled in coding for virtual reality using WebXR and JS; you can see a demo of it here.
As you might be able to tell, I enjoy computer graphics, and graphics in general. I chose to go into advertising instead of pure graphic design, but I still took as many graphic design courses as I was able to during my undergraduate education. I am especially passionate about layout design, both for print material and digital.
If you’re interested in learning more about my work or things I have done, please take a look around the website, as there are a number of examples I have posted. For professional material, please see my portfolio.

Ian is a diligent student who takes pride in creating quality content. He’s ambitious, creative, and he will be a tremendous asset to any communication team.

Linda Burkley, M.A.
Ian is a unique student in that he has worked to combine his analytical abilities as a computer science major with a more creative second major in advertising and public relations. His proficiency in computer science is complemented by his understanding of advertising and public relations principles and strategies which gives him a unique mindset for his future career. He has worked hard over the past four years to meet the requirements of both programs successfully.

Amanda Lenig, M.F.A.
Ian ventured into our design program as a non-major and not only took, but succeeded and pushed his classmates, in two design courses. Often doing so while managing a 20 or more credit load. His software and technical skills were enviable to his classmates, but from an instruction standpoint, I was continuously impressed with this conceptual and critical thinking abilities.

Nabeel Siddiqui, Ph.D.
Ian is a passionate worker with a strong academic record and impressive research experience. I’m constantly impressed with his technical proficiency, innovative problem-solving skills, and commitment to environmental sustainability. His versatility and proactive involvement in various initiatives demonstrate his dedication to contributing to the world.
